WEST MOONAH NEIGHBOURHOOD HOUSE

A place for community, connection and belonging

Established in 1985, our Neighbourhood House has been part of the local community for more than 40 years.

We are a welcoming, inclusive place where people can come together, meet new people, learn new skills, share experiences and feel connected. We provide opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate, contribute and be part of community life.

Over the years, our Neighbourhood House has grown and changed alongside our community. While the programs, activities and people may change, our purpose remains the same — creating a friendly and supportive space where everyone is welcome.

Whether you are looking to learn something new, connect with others, access local support, volunteer, or simply find a place where you belong, we invite you to get involved.

We are proud of our history, connected to our community, and looking forward to the years ahead.

Our Programs and Activities

Our programs and activities reflect the diverse interests and needs of our community.

From social groups and community activities to educational opportunities, healthy living programs, cooking and food-related activities, gardening, referral services, there are many ways to learn, connect and have fun.

We offer welcoming opportunities for people to develop new skills, improve their health and wellbeing, meet others, share knowledge and experiences, and enjoy being part of a supportive community. Our activities are designed to encourage participation, connection and lifelong learning, with something for people at different stages and interests.

Everyone is welcome at West Moonah Neighbourhood House. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating a safe, respectful and inclusive space where people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences feel they belong.

West Moonah Neighbourhood House Nipaluna/Hobart acknowledge and pay respect to Palawa/Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the original owners of the land, seas, waterways, sky and culture of Lutruwita/Tasmania for generations. We pay respect to Elders past and present. We acknowledge and respect the Aboriginal and Torres Strait people’s culture, spiritual, physical and emotional connection with their land, waters and community, on which we gather.
